Rosie

Rosie is from Louisiana. Rosie shared her story with YOUtopian Estates to speak on how natural disasters can lead to homelessness. Rosie moved to Texas at the age of fourteen as a result of hurricane Katrina. She has been homeless almost 20 years. Many of her family members passed away and Rosie had to figure out how to survive by her lonesome thus far.

Rosie comments on how she “is not a fan of people stealing from each other” during her time being homeless. “We all barely have anything anyway. I want us all to be nice to each other.”

Rosie is in agreeance with YOUtopian Estates efforts to combat these issues and she too would like to build more shelters for the homeless and give back to the community. “All we can do is pray. That is all we can do. Just pray everything gets better.”
