Ebty

Ebty is from Fort Worth, Texas. Ebty shared her story with YOUtopian Estates to show others how issues with economics can lead to homelessness. Ebty was living in her apartment that she was able to maintain as her case manager was helping her pay for it through a housing assistance program. When her case manager left that company, unfortunately Ebty lost her apartment as well. Ebty later on was diagnosed with cancer. Ebty is also wheelchair bound. She speaks on how her family knows that she is homeless and does not want to assist her.

Despite feeling unsupported and alone, Ebty strives to “stay out of drama” and says that she if she was not homeless, she would be in her own home isolated away from negativity. She also would love to attend church frequently.

Ebty just wants to find somewhere she can go where she can “take care of [herself].” She has faith that YOUtopian Estates can provide spaces for people like her and make a positive impact in the community.
