Mark & Carolyn

Mark & Carolyn are a married couple who decided to share their story with YOUtopian Estates to represent the population of homeless who had to make a tough decision to become homeless to not burden their families. Carolyn’s family has always been very supportive of her especially her mother and stepfather. Carolyn fell ill with fibroids and ending up in the hospital. Carolyn developed an addiction following her painful health experience.

During her battle with overcoming addiction, she remarked on her journey with God and how she had surrendered to his will for her life and lives to serve him. “My mother’s door has always been open to me my whole life, but I have been out of her house since 18 years old. I did not want to go back and put this on her.” Carolyn decided not to live with her mother due to wanting her independence and not wanting to be a burden. Her husband Mark also had a few run ins with trouble in the past, but the two are focused on loving one another as they support each other’s growth.

Carolyn promotes world peace and both she and Mark are happy with hearing about YOUtopian Estates. “Any organization that is sincere and working for God will always prosper,” said Carolyn. Carolyn has plans to give back to the homeless community and volunteer with YOUtopian Estates someday.
