Raman T.

Raman is a Colorado native. Raman decided to share his story with YOUtopian Estates to bring awareness to uncontrollable life events that can lead to homelessness. Raman is a supportive dad who loves his son. His love brought him to Texas to be able to see his son graduate when tragedy struck. Raman was in a car accident that caused him to be in the hospital for a period of time. After leaving the hospital, he went to live with family members. While drug induced, due to his injuries, Raman was a victim of financial exploitation. All of his funds were collected by family and used miscellaneously. Raman is wheelchair bound and became homeless so that he could take control of his money and use it to better himself.

Raman no longer talks to his family and is trying to support himself as much as possible. Raman says “I want to stack my money and go back to Colorado. I am stuck out here and it has not been safe living on the streets. I have had four phones and all my clothes stolen from me before.”

Raman supports YOUtopian Estates efforts to create safe living spaces for individuals of the homeless community and stated that the organization could benefit himself and others because he “would like a safe place to live to get on his feet.”
